A free backlink sites list where every entry was actually checked
Sixty platforms that let you publish a page or a profile, fetched one by one on the date shown. The useful part is not the ones that work — it is the entries every copied list still gets wrong.
60
checked
48
answered normally
6

6
dead or moved
Checked on 2026-09-02. A domain “answered normally” if it returned a success response over HTTPS and did not redirect to a different domain. That is the entire claim — it does not mean the platform still accepts new accounts, still allows an outbound link, or gives a do-follow one. Those cannot be established by fetching a page, so we do not put a column here pretending otherwise.
6 entries that other lists still carry
These are the useful part. Each one appears in widely-copied lists and is no longer where those lists say it is.

A platform that blocks automated requests is not broken — plenty of large sites refuse traffic that does not look like a browser. It is listed separately because we could not confirm it ourselves, and saying so is more useful than quietly counting it as a pass.
Why a list like this goes stale
Almost every “top sites” list is copied from an older list, which was copied from an older one. Nothing in that chain re-checks the entries, so a platform that rebrands, moves domain or shuts down stays on every list indefinitely.
That is the same failure we see in link reports. A file listing 300 placements looks identical whether the pages exist or not, which is why we fetch every URL in a customer report before it is sent — and why we re-ran this list rather than reprinting one.
This page is re-checked when we update it, and the date at the top is the date it actually ran. If an entry here has moved since, it is our error to fix, not yours to discover.
