Ask what a guest post costs in India and you will get a range, a shrug, and a number someone made up. We can do better than that, because we price 220 sites ourselves and can simply read the distribution.
Here is what 67 Indian guest post placements actually cost, and the thing that surprised us when we plotted it.
Domain Authority barely predicts the price
This is the finding we did not expect. Across our Indian inventory, the correlation between a site's Domain Authority and what it charges is +0.07 — statistically indistinguishable from no relationship at all.
| DA band | Sites | Cheapest | Median | Dearest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30–39 | 12 | ₹5,999 | ₹22,499 | ₹32,999 |
| 40–49 | 16 | ₹5,999 | ₹23,499 | ₹39,999 |
| 50–59 | 25 | ₹2,999 | ₹22,999 | ₹44,999 |
| 60–69 | 10 | ₹5,999 | ₹17,999 | ₹44,999 |
| 70+ | 3 | ₹9,999 | ₹21,999 | ₹29,999 |
Read the median column again. A DA 60–69 site costs less than a DA 30–39 site. The most expensive DA 30–39 placement (₹32,999) costs eleven times the cheapest DA 50–59 one (₹2,999).
If you have been shopping for guest posts by DA band, you have been sorting on a number the market does not price.
Traffic does predict the price
Sort the same 67 sites by real monthly organic traffic and the pattern appears immediately. Correlation to price: +0.38 — weak in absolute terms, but five times stronger than DA.
| Monthly organic traffic | Sites | Median price |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 – 10,000 | 35 | ₹13,999 |
| 10,000 – 50,000 | 16 | ₹26,499 |
| 50,000 – 200,000 | 8 | ₹29,999 |
| 200,000+ | 8 | ₹31,499 |
That is a clean ladder. Publishers price on readership, because readership is what they are actually selling. Domain Authority is a third-party score they had no part in setting.
The comparison that should change how you buy
Split the same inventory by price instead:
| Sites at ₹9,999 or less | Sites at ₹30,000 or more | |
|---|---|---|
| Median DA | 55 | 52 |
| Median monthly traffic | 2,629 | 74,000 |
The cheap sites have higher DA than the expensive ones. They have 28 times less traffic.
That is the whole guest post market in two rows. When you buy on DA, this is what you get — a strong-looking metric attached to a page almost nobody reads.
39% of Indian guest post sites have under 5,000 visitors a month
Of our 67 Indian sites, 26 get fewer than 5,000 monthly organic visits. Their median DA is 51.
Those are not bad sites and we sell them — a DA 51 site with 3,000 engaged readers in your niche can be a perfectly good link. But if you were told you were buying "high DA authority sites" and pictured a national publication, the number you were shown was doing a lot of work.
So what does a guest post cost in India?
Across our Indian inventory: the range is ₹2,999 to ₹44,999, the median is ₹21,999, and the median site you get at that price has 7,566 monthly visits.
Niche moves it more than DA does. Median by category: pharma and medicine ₹5,999, fashion ₹9,999, home and property ₹10,999, news and magazine ₹12,999, music ₹16,499, business services ₹21,999, software and apps ₹23,999, film and cinema ₹26,999. Same country, same DA range, a four-fold spread on subject alone.
What we would tell a buyer
Ask for traffic before you ask for DA. DA is free to look up and easy to inflate. Real organic traffic is the number a seller is reluctant to show you, which is precisely why it is the one to ask for.
Match the niche, then the numbers. A DA 40 site your readers actually visit beats a DA 70 site in an unrelated category, and this data says you will often pay less for it.
Be suspicious of a flat rate. Any seller quoting one price for "a DA 50+ guest post" is either averaging across a range this wide or picking from the cheap end of it. The spread within a single DA band here is fifteen-fold.
Method, and its limits
Figures are from our own marketplace inventory as of July 2026: 220 vetted sites, 67 of them Indian, each with Moz Domain Authority, Ahrefs Domain Rating and organic traffic recorded at listing. Prices are what a buyer pays us, inclusive of the article being written and placed.
Two honest limitations. This is one vendor's inventory, not a census of the Indian market — a different vetting standard would produce a different curve. And every site here passed our checks, so the very bottom of the market, the link farms and expired-domain rebuilds, is missing by design. If anything, that makes the DA finding stronger: this is what the pattern looks like after the junk is removed.
You can check every figure. The sites are listed with their niche, DA and traffic in our guest post marketplace.
