Free link checker

Got a list of links from a seller? Paste the pages and see which ones really carry a live link to your site.

What to look for

  1. Live

The page loads and the link to your site is on it. A report that only says the page loads proves nothing.

  2. Do-follow

The link carries no nofollow, sponsored or ugc tag, so it can pass authority.

  3. In the text

A link inside the article is worth more than one in a footer or a profile sidebar.

Common questions

What does the link checker do?

+

It opens each page you paste and reads it the way a browser receives it, then looks for a link to your website. You see whether the link is live, whether it is do-follow, the anchor text, and whether it sits in the text of the page or in a menu, sidebar or footer.

Why does it say it could not tell?

+

Some sites turn away automated checks, and some pages are built by JavaScript in the browser. In those cases we cannot see the page, so we say so and never call the link gone. Open the page yourself to be sure.

When does it say a link is lost?

+

Only when the page answers 404 or 410, or when two separate reads of a working page show no link to your site.

Does it find all my backlinks?

+

No. It checks the pages you give it. Finding every link to a site needs a crawler index such as Ahrefs or Semrush.

Does a live link mean Google counts it?

+

No. It means the link is on the page today. Whether Google indexes the page and how much the link helps are separate questions, so a link in the text of a real page with real traffic is the one to want.

Is it free, and do you keep what I enter?

+

It is free, with no signup, for 10 pages at a time. We do not store the pages or your website.
