International SEO Services — One Site, Many Markets, No Duplicate Content

Most sites selling abroad do not have an international problem, they have a structure problem. Second-language pages sit inside the English URL space with no language tags, one keyword list gets translated for every market, and Google is left to guess which page belongs to which country. These international SEO services fix the structure first, then research each market on its own terms, then write the pages that answer what buyers there actually type.

What to expect — Service: A managed, done-for-you SEO service handled by our in-house team — not a self-serve link pack.

Why an international SEO agency starts with structure, not translation

The usual order is backwards. A team translates the product pages, uploads them, and only then asks how Google should read them. By that point the damage is already indexed: second-language pages living at English addresses, no language tags, and two versions of the same product competing as duplicates.

Structure is language independent, which is why it goes first. The URL scheme, the redirect map, hreflang, canonical tags and schema have nothing to do with which language the words are in. They help the pages you have today and they will hold the pages you add next quarter. Waiting until the translation is finished simply means Google spends that whole period learning a structure you intend to change.

  • 01Subfolder (/es/) keeps every market on one domain and one authority profile
  • 02Subdomain (es.) and ccTLD (.com.mx) split that authority into separate piles
  • 03At low domain authority the subfolder is almost always the right answer
  • 04A half-migrated section is worse than either finished or not started

Multilingual SEO: research each market, never translate one keyword list

Translating a keyword list produces pages that are grammatically correct and commercially wrong. A buyer in Mexico searching for earbuds types auriculares, not the translation of whatever term ranked in English. Multilingual seo means running the research again, in-market, and letting the findings change the page rather than the page dictate the translation.

Language is also not the same thing as market. Spanish for Mexico and Spanish for Spain diverge on ordinary product vocabulary, and a page written for one reads as foreign in the other. The same is true of Portuguese for Brazil against Portugal, and of English for the US against the UK, where the standards cited are different even though the words are not.

  • 01Slugs translated, not transliterated — the address should use the buyer's word
  • 02Volumes pulled per country, so a term is judged where it will actually be typed
  • 03Spanish and Portuguese researched separately rather than assumed to match
  • 04The English pages re-checked too, because US and UK vocabulary rarely agree

Hreflang, and the three ways it usually breaks

Hreflang tells Google that two pages are the same content for different audiences, which is what stops them being read as duplicates and what puts the right one in front of the right buyer. It is also the tag most often shipped broken, because nothing visibly fails when it is wrong — the pages still load, and the loss is invisible until someone checks which market sees which URL.

We implement it per pair as each translated page goes live and stays live, rather than in one pass at the end. A pair that points at a page which is still a placeholder is worse than no tag at all.

  • 01Not reciprocal — page A points at B, but B never points back, so both are ignored
  • 02Pointing at a redirect or a noindexed page instead of the final address
  • 03Missing the self-referencing tag, or missing x-default for everyone else
  • 04Region codes used as language codes (es-MX is a market, es is a language)

Multi country SEO: certifications are the vocabulary buyers search

This is the part that is hard to do in house, because it is not a translation problem or a developer problem. An importer cannot clear customs without the right approval, so the approval is what they search — and almost nobody publishes a page answering it. The searches are small and the intent could not be higher.

A page that states plainly which markings a product carries, which markets that covers, and what is available on request, tends to be the only direct answer in the results. That is a page a manufacturer can rank at low authority precisely because the competition has not written it.

  • 01Brazil — ANATEL for anything with a radio; buyers search the acronym, not the law
  • 02Mexico — NOM, plus NYCE certification for electronics
  • 03European Union — CE and RoHS, with REACH for materials
  • 04United States — FCC for emissions, UL where safety approval is expected
  • 05Gulf — SASO for Saudi Arabia and G-Mark across the GCC

Global seo services: what you receive, and the honest bit

You receive the structure work, the per-market research as a spreadsheet before anything is written, briefs for every page, up to ten pages written for their market, and links pointing at the pages that matter. If your own developer is doing the technical tasks, we will write them up line by line at no charge — that makes the work land sooner, not cheaper.

The honest bit: entering a market is slower than improving one you already rank in. New pages in a new language start from nothing, and B2B buying cycles add their own delay after the ranking arrives. Anyone quoting you a date for a first overseas enquiry is guessing. What can be promised is that the structure will be correct, the research will be real, and the pages will answer questions your competitors have left unanswered.

  • 01Research delivered in week one, before a word is written
  • 02Structure and redirects before content, so nothing has to be redone
  • 03Every change and every live link listed in a white-label report
  • 0412-month link replacement, GST invoice, no lock-in

Frequently asked

Should we use a country domain like .com.mx, or a /es/ folder?

+

A folder, in almost every case. A country domain starts its authority at zero and has to earn it separately, which for a site that is not already strong means running several weak sites instead of one. Folders inherit everything the main domain has. Country domains make sense when you have a genuinely separate business in that market — local entity, local pricing, local support — and the authority to spare.

Can we just translate the English keywords we already rank for?

+

It is the most common way multi-market SEO fails. Buyers in a market use their own vocabulary, and often a different word from the dictionary translation. We research each market separately and let that decide the page, rather than translating a list and hoping. It also stops you writing the same page twice when the research shows two markets want different things.

Our search volumes in these markets look tiny. Is it worth doing?

+

In B2B export, volume is the wrong measure. A certification query with thirty searches a month comes from an importer who cannot buy without the answer. One of those becoming a customer can outweigh a year of high-volume traffic that never enquires. We deliberately target the small, high-intent strings for that reason.

How long before a new market produces enquiries?

+

The structure and on-page work land inside the delivery window. Ranking in a market you have never ranked in typically starts moving around weeks 8–16, and B2B buying cycles add months on top of that. This is a compounding asset. If a first enquiry by a fixed date is what you need, paid search will do that faster and this will not.
